Bellingham & Stanley has been one of the world's leading manufacturers of Refractometers and Polarimeters. A range of instruments from simple hand held units to fully automatic digital instruments. Fifteen models of refractometers including bench top automatic digitals, autosampling, abbe and hand-helds. Two models of polarimeters; automatic digital and manual. The RFM100 digital automatic Brix refractometer. Equipped with only the Brix (sugar %) scale, these refractometers are ideal for quality control in sugar, food and drink applications. The RFM300 digital refractometers features Brix, RI and up to 5 user scales can be created or selected from the instrument memory. Low Volume models of hand-held refractometers. Special models, unique to B+S, are equipped with a specially designed sample presser to optimize the spreading of sample droplets and ensure the sharpest possible borderline. These instruments are popular with botanists and entomologists for the study of nectars and pollination where sample volumes of 1 microlitre are available. Bellingham+Stanley manufactures high quality 'general purpose polarimeters' for use in a variety of applications, along with a range of sample tubes and quartz control plates for instrument validation. The measuring wavelength is 589nm (sodium) and tubes of up to 220mm in length can be accommodated. Instruments that are used extensively throughout the world's food, drinks, pharmaceutical, chemical and petroleum industries. The ADP220 is a fully automatic digital polarimeter with resolution to 0.01 angular degrees. When used in conjunction with B&S Windows® based software and an optional flow through tube, the ADP220 can offer a sugar purity analysis capability (saccharimeter). The Model D is an optical-mechanical instrument, suitable for most applications. Used in conjunction with a B+S sodium light source, rotation measurements to within about 0.02 angular degrees can be achieved.
